Plastic and Carbon Credits
PLASTIC CREDITS
PlasCred is working with Verra and SCS Global to develop the first crediting standard that recognizes advanced recycling and end-of-life plastic recovery. No formal methodologies currently exist for these pathways under any global plastic credit frameworks.
- Current crediting frameworks only recognize collection and mechanical recycling, advanced recycling and end-of-life recovery are not yet covered.
PlasCred is expected to remove 100 tonnes of plastic per day with potential value of $5,000 to $80,000 per day for Neos.
- Current market value of plastic credits are $50 – $800 per tonne of plastic removed.
Immediate market demand exists for PlasCred’s plastic credit solutions, as Pepsi, Coke, Unilever, Nestle, and P&G are all currently involved in a class action lawsuit for plastic pollution.
CARBON CREDITS & GHG Reduction
PlasCred has formed a Credit Development Team partnered with Verra and SCS Global.
- Countries internationally have agreed to climate policies (e.g. Paris Accord)
and are committed to reducing Greenhouse Gases (GHG), such as by imposing taxes on GHG emissions. - Carbon trading markets are expanding quickly, as companies producing GHG emissions are looking to offset their taxes using carbon credits.
PlasCred Neos GHG Reduction
- ~ 51,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
- Potential of $1.5 million per year revenue.
- Equivalent of removing over 11,000 vehicles from the road annually.
Voluntary Carbon Credits
- Voluntary carbon credits have a value of $8 to $30 per tonne carbon removed and have a dedicated demand market of mostly energy organizations.
